Dental Billing Question

For anyone that knows about normal dental billing practices. I had a routine cleaning and xray. I was billed for 00274 - 4 bite wing x rays.. but I was billed TWICE for this on the same day.. so this line appeared twice on my EOB. Is this standard or is it likely a mistake? My insurance only covers 4 per year.. not 8! So dentist sent me a bill to cover the difference.
