How to deal with rejection? It runs so deep

After my ex broke up with me and that rejection occured. It ran so deep, probably because of insecurity. I was also codependent with him.
I have been seeking any type of validation to not feel rejected. How do I validate myself? How do I cope with rejection? Even if I wasn’t feelinf a date, when they reject me I feel like shit and feel like I’m basically undeserving of love.
