New to Call of Duty, and shooters in general. What do I need to know, and what can I do so my team doesn't hate me?

I guess I'm not completely new to shooters, but I can definitely say that I've hardly played them. I played Destiny for a good amount of time, and played some Halo back in the day. Other than that, just stuff like Borderlands, mostly.

Any advice for a completely new player to this game and the series? Unfortunately I don't have any buddies who play this, so I'm more or less jumping in by myself. Just want to make sure that I don't screw over anyone teamed up with me while I'm learning and trying to get better.
