Of course, we had an excellent time at Coachella. However, I was saddened at how many people were pushing and shoving at certain sets / not being kind compared to past years.
My fiancé was absolutely stoked to see Fred Again - he’s been a huge fan from the very beginning and was so hyped. Our group got there early and we were up front eagerly waiting. Right as he was about to start a huge crew of people crammed through aggressively and planted right behind us. We kindly asked them if they could continue on since we had been waiting for a little while and it was our most anticipated set. They refused to move back and then talked during the set, didn’t know the music, and didn’t dance at all. Eventually several other people just pushed through to the front and were just on their phones/ not dancing or getting into the music.
We ended up having to leave the set 20 minutes in because it was so unbearable to keep having people cram in and then not even vibe.
I get it to some extent if you’re really hyped and try to get through the crowd and push a bit while groovin - but if you don’t know an artist or their music and are just going to stand there like a brick wall and be on IG in the very front of the stage please just consider respecting other people’s energy.
It can really be a set ruiner when you get a good spot then tons of people come after the set starts and cram into you.
This is just a PSA to be respectful and when you see people really into something please do not bump, shove, and sit on your phone.
Thanks for hearing me out and THANK YOU to the many wonderful people whose energy was infectious and kept the vibes going - the bad interactions with people made the good ones feel even more special.
