COVID-19 is a real disease and should be taken seriously. This subreddit is not for making light of the coronavirus or any other disease, but to recognize the need for people to channel their energy and uncertainty into something productive, especially while so many of us are in self- or government-imposed isolation.

Health officials across the globe have been very clear that the best-case scenario is we take control efforts seriously and in a couple months this will all look like a big over-reaction. Let's do our part to make it so.

If things don't go as planned, things could get dicey, and raw. Remember to stay civil and understanding in this difficult time.

What is encouraged:
* Any long-term writing project you are starting or working on while in quarantine/isolation over the next few weeks, regardless of subject.
* Other writing specifically about or written because of the current situation. * Serious discussion about how the world has reacted or not reacted to the pandemic and what lessons we can draw to use in our creative writing.
* Any other respectful discussion about disease or the current state of the world that ties back to writing.

What is not allowed: * Absolutely No disrespecting the victims of this or any disease, nor the health-care workers, public servants, scientists, or others working in good faith to serve the public good. No belittling people for taking the situation seriously, no blaming people for the situation they're now in, no dismissing their hardship. Okay? Okay.

Other Stuff

• This is an all-ages subreddit so no porn, and provide content warnings where appropriate.

• Irreverence is perfectly fine, especially when directed at the disease itself. You wanna personify the virus as a giant orange troll and then have it get its butt kicked by the Super Sexy Sibling Scientist Squad^tm ? Be my guest! Some people deal with stress through comedy, some through seriousness, always try to give an author the benefit of the doubt.
