How to find people to play with?

Is there an app, or sub Reddit. Or discord channel that is a good place to find new people to play with? FPS games just throw you in lobbies and sometimes you can meet cool people there. But Co Op games usually require server invites and for you to already know the person that you want to play with. But what if you want to meet new people to play with?
