Recently, we have been comparing ourselves to esports like LoL, Dota 2, and CS:GO and basically just shitting on ourselves because they are doing better than us. But what nobody realizes is how big of an Esport we are compared to every other game. Here are the maximum concurrent viewership for various games:
1)LoL- 8 million at Worlds finals in 2014
2)Dota 2- 2 million at the International 4
3)CS:GO- 1 million at ESL One Katowice
4)Starcraft II-241k at 2011 Pro Circuit National Championships (Probably more at some other event)
5)Cod- 205k at MLG Columbus 2014(Possibly more because of xbox live viewership has not been announced for each Cod Championship)
6)Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3-149k at Evo 2014
7)Super Smash Bros Melee- 137k at Evo 2014
8)Ultra Street Fighter 4-130k at Evo 2014
9)Heroes of the Storm-120k Heroes of the Dorm(What happened last night with ESPN2)
10)World of Tanks-120k at World of Tanks Grand Finals
11)Hearthstone -100k at Blizzcon
12)Smite-80k at SWC 2014?(I am not sure about this one. I think I remember seeing somewhere that it got like 140k, but I could barely find this number of views anyways. It is less than what COD gets)
13)BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma- 80k at Evo 2014
14)Halo- 50k? at MCC Invitational
Despite people saying that COD is a terrible esport, we are the 4/5th biggest Esport by peak concurrent Viewership over the 1,000s of other games...(Starcraft is dieing, and so now we get more/equal viewers to them.)
Also damn 2014 was a good year for Esports
Edit 1:Sorry If I got some of the max viewerships for these wrong, It was hard trying to find the peak viewerships for many of the games. If you point it out, I will change it.
