Is "competitive cod" an oxymoron due to the fact the game is console based with aim assist?
Post Body

The more i've strayed away from cod as a player, the more of a joke i honestly feel the competitive scene really is. Appart from the fact the game is heavily unsupported from it's developers and the fact that it's not designed to be a competitive esports title, i feel like one thing that i feel makes the term "competitive cod" an oxymoron is the fact that by having it be a console based FPS means there's an inherent reliance on aim assist. The idea that a game which is driven behind being able to aim and kill your opponent is ajusted and assisted takes away from the core fundamental skill that the entire game is based around. Do you think that cod should be played with aim assist off? Would this increase the skill gap between players who actually have a good shot and those who don't? Would this ultimately slow down the pacing of the game? Would this make game modes like blitz or Hardpoint less competitive and conversely, would this make SnD far more methodical in it's approach?
