Seeking some understanding

My wife had bilateral PEs in her lungs last summer caused by birth control and factor V (although a leg DVT is thought to be the source). She is on Pradaxa twice a day and she gets leg pain pretty consistently that she says feels like a DVT but not as bad. Is this normal? Is there anything to do? Her MD recommended compression socks but otherwise indicated this is normal. Any info is appreciated.
