Job prospects with an M.A. that doesn't lead to licensure (USA)
Post Body
(Posting for a friend)
I'm wrapping up my first semester for an M.A. in Clinical Psychology that doesn't lead to licensure and whose primary goal is to prepare students for doctoral programs.
I feel a little rocky about the path I've taken because I do want to get a PsyD eventually, but I want to work and earn first to help fund my doctoral studies.
Are my job prospects after this program really only limited to research or corporate? Alternatively, is there anything I can do during my time in my current program that could make me more competitive for full-ride scholarships to a doctorate?
I'm considering switching to my school's program for an M.A. in Counseling that leads to licensure, but that also poses significant challenges.
