MAP: Takistan
SITUATION:
Around 24hrs ago, reconnaissance patrols successfully secured data from a UAV providing enough evidence for the UN to grant us occupation of Takistan on the grounds of genocide and warcrimes.
A small Forward Operating Base (FOB) has been established near the village Bastam. Our objectives for today, are to scout and secure a Main Supply Route (MSR) leading from the FOB, south along the main road, cutting off through the valley east to finish south-east of Anar, north of Loy Manara airfield. Loy Manara will be used as a FOB during the assault which is critical to future operations and to offload supplies.
The MSR is to be used to transport troops and supplies to Loy Manara for the forthcoming assault. The enemy know we want that airfield and so expect some heavy defences along the proposed MSR.

Mission Notes:
The mission itself is straightforward, but there are some notes re: signup slots. We've noticed a lot of our newer players seem hesitant to try anything but grunt roles. While we always like seeing full up infantry squads, we do want to spread the fun around for the alternative slots, so that's the plan this week!
The slots listed in italics are reserved for those who have never done them before. This means if you've never been a medic before, or never been part of a vehicle crew, try them! Medic is lots of fun and Striker and I will give you guidance. Vehicle crew is also lots of fun and Fadi knows that stuff like the back of his hand.
Both of these (medic and vehicle crew) are very heavily teamwork-oriented roles, above that of a regular grunt slot. You need to think quickly and be able to communicate important information in a clear and concise manner.
For medics: Sometimes you'll need to be able to shout at everyone around you to immediately do stuff, so don't be afraid of that. Make sure you understand all of the various medical items, when and how to use them, and when to tell someone "no you're fine just keep shooting, this other person needs my help more." Also, you are not a bandage dispenser, you are An Mans and you are useless if you get shot. Dslyecxi's guides are wonderful resources, so consider the section Squad Medic as required reading.
For tankers: As a rule we try to avoid vehicles invalidating the presence of the rest of the server population, so you tend to be under close command from the tank commander and whomever is responsible for coordinating the vehicle. This usually boils down to not single-handedly killing everything on the map, and not charging off to an immediate death. Fadi and I are going to call this little document he put together required reading for tank slots.
