Vaccum & rug combo from hell. And need other tips.

I have a dyson ball upright vaccum and a ruggable carpet that just don’t go together. I am constantly cleaning crumbs behind my little ones and both the rug and vacuum drive me nuts. Following frustrations;
- Vaccum is too strong and sucks the ruggable carpet in.
- All Dyson accessories either crush the crumbs more or suck the carpet in.
- Dyson doesn’t vaccum cat food and just pushes it around. I have to lift and vacuum it.
- I just end up using a broom to sweep in one spot and use the vaccum flex extension to suck everything in. Obviously I have to vaccum over it again 🤦🏽♂️.
- I have to sweep over my carpet very hard to get all the crumbs stuck to it.
- The Dyson flex extension is also very rigid and drags the vacuum with me every time I take a step. 🙄
- Lastly what are your favourite cleaning tools, products for furniture, counters, plumbing, electrical fixtures?
