Do to a weather event, belongings in my storage got wet then sat wet until I could get to them. I had to throw a lot away but would like to salvage some of my expensive (to me) boots. They are all leather and have a white substance on them - I am unsure if it is mold or mildew or if those are the same thing. Anyway I would like to clean them without damaging the leather. After using a dry cloth to gently wipe the area there is still some remaining and I am afraid to go at them and ruin the finish. Tips? I would really like to salvage these 2 pairs as I had to throw so much away.
