What is the most efficient way to remove/keep dust out of a room?

Hey everyone, title says it all. I have a small room with carpet and a sliding glass window that I like to keep open for ventilation. It seems like every week everything in my room gets just absolutely covered in dust. Is there any way to remedy this? Thanks in advance
