I love a home project but I found myself turning in my hat at this one. Spent close to 6 hours to minimal avail. I tried steel wool (grade 3), a paint scraper, easy off, dawn dish soap, bar keepers friend and baking soda. After no success, I caved and got her a new one. (The last two photos are post me spending nearly 6 hours on it and it wasn’t seeming worth my efforts.) Would you have done the same? Or should I have stuck it out? I was worried I wouldn’t be able to effectively clean the vent on top.
It wasn’t 6 hours straight! My last round of degreaser (aka easy off) I let sit for 2.5 hours! The other rounds I let sit for 15. Still wasn’t making a break through.
Yes! I’ve never had such an issue. Used the name brand and an off brand. It was sooo stubborn.
We are all roommates and share kitchen appliances! But we haven’t lived together for as long as she’s had the oven. You would probably be disappointed to hear that I bought her a new one..

I’m honestly quite curious as well. I asked her how long she’s had the oven for and I will update you when she responds. Never seen anything like this.
