Cleaning bathroom floor mats

What are folks using for non-slip bathroom floor mats?

I have always loved having a fluffy, cushiony, non-skid mat for the bathtub/shower, bathroom sink, and of course the contour mat for the toilet. Beyond the comfy, cozy feeling, I also love the look for my bathroom.

I would wash these semi-weekly/monthly as a separate load and fortunately never had any real issues aside from the rubber backing degrading over time (and seeing the debris in my washing machine. Thankfully my machine never clogged or broke!!

With my most recent mats, I would place them in giant washing bags (to preserve the floor mat rubber backing) per some tips I read somewhere. This has worked great up until now.

The last couple of washes have presented a novel problem (for me) that the mats become so waterlogged that the machine canโ€™t spin them dry.

Researching this problem online led to the surprising information that bathroom mats should not go in the washer (https://www.familyhandyman.com/article/never-wash-bathroom-mats/)

What do others do for bathroom floor mats? Even though I vacuum them and shake them out, itโ€™s very important for me to also wash these regularly. But I worry about slipping and injuring myself. Is there a happy solution?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions :)

Edited to add: I want to be able to use my front-loader washing machine at home and not go to a laundromat.
