Moved into our new house, and found the dishwasher was running poorly with a bad smell. Popped off the bottom arm and saw this horror show.

It took a lot to not barf with this haha. Decided to see if there was a filter that was dirty since our dishwasher wasn't running great, and found this. 4 hours of my life later, it mostly cleaned up and running a clean cycle as we speak. I couldn't get all the black off the drain pieces, so I'll take anyone's advice on getting those better. For now, I'll be busy rewashing all of our dishes from the last week.

Friendly reminder to check your dishwasher for buildup!
