I'm trying to furnish a place with my SO. We've spoken about it and we want to dedicate as little time as posslible to cleaning and maintaing it.
So far, we've agreed on:
Bathroom:
Bathroom should only have a bathtub, a sink with a countertop, a mirror, a towel warmer and nothing else. No glass or hard-to-clean tiles.
Toilet should be separate.
Laundry room should be separate and it should include a chute to disperse of any dirty laundry.
Living room and bedrooms:
No furniture should be on the floor. Sofa, shelves and stuff like that should have legs and all of it should be easy to wipe, so no or little upholstery.
Kitchen:
No upper cabinets. No open shelves. No polished surfaces. An induction stovetop, a countertop free of any clutter, built in appliances and a stainless steel sink.
General:
No hardwood floors, no blinds, as little glass as possible, no shiny surfaces, minimize nooks and crannies to allow robotic vacuum clean as much as possible. Floor drains to easily wash bathrooms, toilets or powder rooms. An air purifier to reduce dust,
Is there anything you find particularly hard to clean or contrastly, anything super easy to clean? Which appliances would you recommend we avoid? Which appliances would you recommend?
We have no budget so we are open to anything from smart washing machines to advanced HVAC systems. The only objective for us is the minimization of energy we have to put towards keeping our home clean.
Hepa filter on the HVAC. Make the space around the toilet wide enough to fit a mop in, and your robot vacuum.
