So we hired a house cleaner the week of thanksgiving and she initially told us she charges $25-$30 an hour. She cleaned our house and charged us $60 as she worked for 2 hours. Well, she came back today (with help) and did not discuss any pricing before she started cleaning to either me or my husband. After they finished cleaning she texted me saying that she needs to start charging $200 for 2 hours of work so $100 an hour. She also said that for today she needed to be paid $100 for 2 hours of work which is double an hour what she quoted me the first time she cleaned. I must also say my house is tiny and is only 752 saft downstairs and we have 1 small bathroom and two bedrooms. She does not even clean the bedrooms in this price. She's also left caked on dirt on the kitchen floor the past 2 cleanings instead of bending down and scraping it off the floor or using our steam mop which loosen it up very easily. And by this I mean one small spot of dried dirt on the floor from my husbands shoes on a rainy day. Not the whole floor caked in dirt. I also want to add that she and her friend took multiple smoke breaks to not only smoke cigarettes but weed as well. I am not against people who smoke weed but I have a sensitivity to it and after they left had to open my windows to air out the house of weed and cigarette smell. She has since told me my house is the dirtiest her and her friend have cleaned, insulted me, been very rude, threatened to tell other cleaners not to work with me, and belittled me for my debilitating health conditions that are brand new to me. Attached are photos of my small house she claims to be “hazardous conditions that could be reported” I just need some opinions on this situation and honestly how bad my house is. Mind you my house was NOT deep cleaned for hours and was standard cleaned over 2 hours including the numerous smoke breaks (note the ashtray on the coffee table she left behind)
