Sorry for the crap quality pic

I have a very heavy 8’ x 10’ area rug that is shag.

it seems like no matter how much i clean it, there’s always more random scraps and such that are found/stepped on and such.

I haven’t had much luck with my research because it’s too heavy to hang and beating it upside down didn’t work well enough.

i have a 14 month old and i have found broken glass, rocks, food with unknown origins.

I have tried these methods thus far and a rate of how well it cleaned the rug on a scale 1-4. 1 Being the worst and 4 being the best.

**SEARCHING FOR NUMBER 5 QUALITY METHOD THOUGH****

4) sweep all the crap off onto surrounding floors. will brush rug in all different directions to try to loosen up all the crap stuck in it. -very convenient. -efficiently cleans both surface level and deep diets -doesn’t take much time to do it -does require a little sweating (effort) but nothing crazy -low involvement level because you can do as much or as little as you want. the only thing it does really involve is sweeping up the surrounding floors when finished -quality of care!

3) to vacuum it with my regular carpet bissell vacuum. but i can’t only vaccum by pulling it backwards. when i try to push it forwards, it won’t budge and it seems to also pull the hairs out -more convenient -efficiently cleans surface level dirt but doesn’t penetrate deep soil too well -completely finished within minutes -doesn’t require any effort besides the pulling of the vacuum -no involvement require besides the rolling up of cord
