DVD or Blu Ray for the classics?

I don’t know if it’s just me but I feel like blu ray is a bit too sharp for my liking for classic (b&w) horror so I always go with dvd. I like the old grainy look lol. I do go with blu ray for newer movies though. What about you guys?
