What is it with the distance between new card releases?

I really feel like the developers should go back to releasing new cards every month or two. We are only receiving a new card(s) every 6 months or even longer. I stopped playing consistently in late 2019 but have visited the game here and there. I just think the meta and card variety is just boring and stale from what I've seen.
