Global Ranking replaced by best trophies

I had a global ranking at top 5k as my best season. Today after the reset, the best season got replaced by an unranked inflated trophies. Why is there a change in best season algorithm without any official notification from Supercell? Rankings are hard work by players. How can they be erased by a higher trophy count but unranked?

Also to add on, if those players manage to get into top 10k last season with higher trophies, but if their best season still has higher ranking, their best season with higher ranking retained. How is this algorithm making sense? It is self-contradicting. It is a huge logic flaw.
