3M has been an issue for quite some time, having the advantage of dual lane push and being able to deploy at good discounted cost vs 1 musketeer. The approach supercell took all this while is to nerf its support instead of the card itself, yet it has been proven that 3M meta continue to be strong. On the other hand, meta not using 3M ends up being the one getting affected more (ram in pekka, pump in golem, Giant deck, minion horde, maybe even the dead royal hogs that supercell is pretending to ignore)
With so many discussions ongoing in reddit, twitter, we do know that 3M nerf is under consideration but not straightforward due to elixir spill and standalone musketeer being affected. But i do not think its fair either to go ahead nerfing its support as a temporary measure before Supercell comes up with a solution.
Look at Pump in golem deck, which serves as a spell bait. Nerfing pump results in Golem deck not able to do its full push easily. Yet if you look at 3M meta, there's lesser impact to 3M because of the deck composition that allows 3M deck to trade elixirs with fast cycle deck without the need to have a pump in place. (e.g. 3M deck with minion horde ram can take down a tower easily, while Golem deck main win cond is usually a full golem push). Of course skill plays a huge part as well, but if we look at it from a broader point of view, 3M is less impacted.
The point is I don't see why devs continue to nerf its support when they are considered balanced in non 3M decks. For instance, if we look at royaleapi, Ram alone has a high winrate now. But if we look at decks as a whole, Pekka Ram meta only accounts for 47.6% winrate in GC, but a whooping 60 % in 3M meta. Likewise, Pump in Golem is now not even found in top 20 decks in GC.
TL:DR, stop nerfing 3M support as a means to nerf 3M meta. These supports have high winrate because of 3M, yet their winrate are balanced in non 3M decks. Nerf 3M directly. Do your damn Root Cause Analysis. Fix the root cause, not the symptoms!
