Issue with switching devices

So guys and gals, I switch phones fairly often. I recently moved from an android device back to an iOS device. I tried to link the devices between so I could keep my game and it only loaded my previous iOS game... so the last year of purchases and grinding are all for not.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Is there a way to fix this?
Tldr; lost all my game progress switching devices and I'm freaking out.
