I've been playing for about 2 1/2 months now, after playing my first day I knew I was going to play a lot of this and wanted to support both the game as well as get a nice start, so I bought some gems.
After playing for about a month, the booster pack hype I knew from magic the gathering was back again so I bought some gems.
Last week, I felt like treating myself, instead of buying beer or something I bought some gems.
I'm now in arena 7 with 9/6/0/1 cards (dont use an epic in my deck atm, got an ice wizard out of a free chest) which is on par with the others there. I'm up against people with the same level cards as me and I beat them, I go up against some people with better cards and I might beat them, I go against people lower than me and they might beat me.
Besides the above rant, for someone like me who does buy gems every now and again I really don't understand the salt. The player you're up against is on the same skill level as you are (ignoring droppers, since they are seperated from gemmers) even with better cards. He/she got there the same way you did, which makes it possible for you to beat them.
The nature of the game automaticly means there will be walls where your cards will be outlevelled. Gemmers like me face those as well, only the poepl who drop 10k won't and that is a very very small percentage.
Why is it that people who make sure that you can play the game for free are so universally hated?
I had to rant after seeing both the salt in the thread about not muting emotes as well as someone's salty comment about gemmers, there so much fun to be had in this game, it's a shame such a large part of the community seems to find only hardships and I wonder why.
