(Not) tonguing?

So I am a sophomore in high school (year 11) and I’ve just realized that for the past how many ever years I’ve been playing that I’ve never actually been tonguing— I don’t think my tongue ever even touches the reed, and I’ve been blowing individual notes. Are there any good ways to learn/relearn tonguing? Btw I know I should bring this up with my teacher, but I kind of want to try to work this out before seeing him, or at least to get another opinion.
