Was digging through old messages and found the conversation for Amani Kingdom's decision making during WW1
Post Body

In the past few days a series of events have taken place that has led to Luni of Omnitopia trying to mobilize the Omni-Alliance against the Federation. The original situation has already been resolved and now Luni is using it as an opportunity to force the Federation to make some changes. However, I disagree with the action and the reasons behind and announced Amani Kingdom would not participate, even at the cost of leaving the Omni-Alliance. Luni has ignored my position and stated only your decision was acceptable for the nation. If he should message you or otherwise, please state that we will not participate in the action against the Federation. If you need reasons for this I can provide them.

Frank I did indeed get a message from Lunis, 2 hours ago, asking for support. I also disagree with the action but I'm quite curious what your reasons are!

This is what I send to Lunis. Hello LunisequiouS, For any state affairs I would like to redirect you to Frank_Wirz. His decision is the decision of Amani Kingdom.

Thanks you for your support. Here is why I opposed it:

  1. The original issue was already resolved. This action is nothing but Luni butting into a situation.

  2. Luni did not consult you or me and I doubt any of the other Omni-Alliance members before making his ultimatum. Essentially throwing around the power of the alliance at his sole discretion.

  3. This expedition's goals are unnecessary and unethical. Despite the crap people give the Federation they are free to do as they please in their own nation, which is all they have done so far. Besides that, they've made some reforms. The toll is now selective, in that it only applies to certain people or groups of their discretion. Heck, they're even letting me build a warehouse in their territory, so peaceful cooperation is possible.

  4. Luni is in charge of this thing. We all know the underhanded stuff he does and this situation really feels like a power grab on his part. Like I said in point 2, he didn't ask members of the alliance, just threw it around for 'Luni justice.'

1: I completely agree

2: Exactly it's just him who decides the whole thing and forces everyone to do what he wants. It's absolute bullshit: he's supposedly speaking on behalf of the Omni-Alliance but he's just spouting things he wants.

This is the reaction he gave me:

You surprise me Falq. This seems most unlike you. I'd half expect Uniter to have access to your reddit account and to have written this missive in your stead after such a curt and inconsiderate reply, despite the lasting friendship between our nations. I look forward to talking ingame with you at length in order to ascertain your purposes, but your preliminary response is most discouraging. The Alliance would and has readily assisted your efforts in the past yet you now deny us a just request on principle alone. I need not tell you of trifling reprimands for violating our agreements, for those are secondary to me, but your dismissal of our request, from a nation that even offered myself personally, shelter and membership before, comes as a heavy and distressing blow. I urge you to reconsider, unless you find the Federation's despicable acts justifiable (arguably worse still than Outer Heaven, which you fought against). See you ingame. Lunisequious

I hope we can talk on teamspeak soon.

[–]to BlackFalq sent 1 year ago

This is just insulting. The server teamspeak is down for now.

[–]from BlackFalq sent 1 year ago

Yeah pretty insulting indeed..

I heard, that's a shame.

Should we react to this post? We did freely become allies with Omnitopia (that was before your time) but I never said yes to any thing called the Omni-alliance. Amani Kingdom, Moria and Omnitopia were just allies and would help each other if someone got attacked.

It annoys me that all of a sudden it's now called the Omni-alliance and for some reason it seems like Lunis is in complete control.

It wouldn't hurt I guess. Actually, Luni removed this post last night. I sent a modmail about it and mbach reinstated it.

[–]from BlackFalq sent 1 year ago

Hahah did Luni really remove it? That's pretty bad.

[–]to BlackFalq sent 1 year ago

Mbach put it back up and most members of the alliance did somewhat back Luni by clarifying membership was voluntary. Still, it was an abuse of power and apparently he went ahead and resigned. Keep this between us, but here's the resignation letter he gave to mbach which he also shared with alison:

I'm afraid I've become all but disillusioned with this server. There's a distinct lack of commitment from the overwhelming majority of the community who for real life reasons or simple lack of interest essentially cause the world to be littered with little but dead nations.

Major powers are all but irrelevant in the next week and the IQ of the average player seems depressingly low, although a few fair individuals still manage to cause a good impression (though less often nowadays).

Still, the status quo is far too transient for any given nation to remain relevant for any more than a few weeks, which makes the world a lot more bland than it should have been.

I've followed this experiment from the very beginning with much interest and it could have been great. It was indeed, at least for the first couple months. I'm afraid it's simply gone downhill from there.

The player base never quite recovered from the holiday breaks. The staff's unwillingness to ensure a mature and informed playerbase by means of a greylist has since allowed all sorts of dubious individuals to permeate the server and compromise its original goal.

I fear the aforementioned facts have all but put me off from this server and Minecraft entirely, for the time being.

I had decided to give it a second chance, but it seems like the active playerbase these days is composed mostly of uninformed new friends and the least tasteful remnants of the golden days of the server.

I stayed at first with the intention to moderate and ensure the experiment ran its course appropriately, but was given little power to actually achieve that and no standing responsibilities whatsoever.

I had a blast while it lasted so thanks for that at least. Out of respect for you personally, I've decided to refrain from putting in motion a plan that would likely force a world reset, though it was tempting.

I'll likely leave a few things in order in game and take an extended leave of absence. If there's an actual need to moderate I might return for my duties, but I don't really see myself playing assiduously any longer.

See you around.

~ Luni

As someone well put it, what a shitlet.

Really?

The resignation letter seems quite friendly on the surface but it's actually a giant insult towards the staff and the server. Not sad to see him go TBH. I actually thought he was roleplaying his arrogance the whole time but it seems like it was real the whole time.

[–]from BlackFalq sent 1 year ago

So with Luni now gone I'll propose you as new Chairman of the Omni-alliance ;). My second proposal is to rename the Omni Alliance to 'The Alliance'.
