Raiding/War/Bandit lifestyle (Very Important, needs separation from General 2.0 thread)
Post Body

Okay so I think this is so important to the server but it's something the mods/admins can't control (Besides less strict grieifing/raiding rules). It's what we as a player base controls.

"Warmongers" kind of existed in Civ Ex. They were called the Federation. Honestly, if you look at the 3 world wars, Moria was involved in 2 of them and weren't called warmongers. Luni was involved in all 3 and wasn't labeled that. It isn't the title which is so bad, it's the hate on the subreddit. Sharp and his friends like to PvP so they wage war that's their deal. We should NOT talk shit and be so rude on the subreddit to them. The lifestyle of declaring war and raiding should be more of a norm. Civilizations often fought other civilizations.

On Civ Ex we are waaaaay too bad about merging the lines between the game and friends outside of the game or whatever you want to call this. What I mean by this is people would avoid war because they don't want to piss off their neighbors who would most likely talk shit about them for the next 3 months and hold a grudge and it just discourages war.

WAR SHOULD HAPPEN OFTEN. Even if you're not good at PvP, think about if every nation had at least 1 war you'd eventually PvP someone worse than your nation. Everyone on Civ Ex 1.0 advocated stuff people do in real life (Looking at you Jones and Bbgun). Like fuck yeah diplomacy should be the only solution in real life but...

This is a video game.

Democracy is also fundamentally the truest and greatest government style and dictatorships are discouraged but...

This is a video game.

You shouldn't feel like shit for sacking someone's town in a video game. It's a feature of it. You can do that.

You should be able to bully a nearby weaker nation and force tribute. It's a freakin' video game.

But you should feel like an asshat dick face if you grief builds that took hours upon hours of time and effort while doing all of this.

Hopefully in 2.0 we can all be a little more open to aggression to make the experiment fun. I felt like it was just Feds v. _____ every war. It should be varieties of nations for multiple reasons. Like shit, Feds and RoL did perfect jobs of this. Geographically they waged war (Angstrom). RoL had a competitive super power (Moria). These are good, legit reasons for war and I hope to see more of it on 2.0.

Just for fun here is a list of nations I wish saw more conflict and had wars.

  • Sky Utopia v. Arcestir. This shit was destiny and I mean it kind of happened but eh it was more like jokin' around.

  • Amani Kingdom v. Revolution State. Holy shit did anyone remember when Twitch bought that piece of land and PimpShrimp and him were going at it? I was hoping to God we would see Dwarves siege the walls of Rev State.

  • The Reach Rebellion. Okay so back when Moria was in it's prime and there were people in the Reach, I would have loved to have seen The Reach fight a war for Independence. That would have been dank. First independence movement on the server.

  • Realm of Light Civil War. This would be an actual civil war people on the sub would give fucks about because of how large their nation is player and territory wise. It would change the Gold Monopoly and so history would be sooo different.

  • Wardens of Vaal v. Vosis. Kind of old, but one of the first places we set our eyes on to annex was Vosis. I wish they still played because it would have been a fun conflict and geographically made sense.
