Hey guys, while I know a lot of you spend most of your time on civcraft digging out the hole, I feel like the outside needs to be a bit "refurbished". There are a bunch of half finished houses and clashing architectural themes through out the city. If people are all for it, I don't mind renovating some of the buildings (putting details on, generally making things nicer to look at). The biggest decision (aside from the go ahead) is to decide upon a style.
Some of my ideas:
I personally really like the helm's deep feel to the residential area, having it in a cliff "bay" is pretty cool. I know there is the 4 story limit to the houses, perhaps we could make houses closer to the cliff taller? That way you can see almost a pyramid of houses working the way up to the cliff? Perhaps make the wall more grand? Taller with towers and what not every so often along the outside?
In the bay/market area it may be cool to have a few more public buildings. Depending on our future policies with the SPQR and such, perhaps an embassy building? Other governments could have offices in it (help develop diplomatic relations). Maybe add an information center, with a miniature 3d map of the area or something.
In general, it would be nice to add a bit more color and elegance to the outside. Yes we are miners (or excavators...) but the end goal of the Hex is rather grand and lofty. Having a town that represents this could help convey that we're not just a dead end town with a small dedicated group aiming to do something neigh impossible.
tl;dr I want to make the outside of the town prettier.
Post theme ideas, Unified detail ideas, do we have a flag (?), how do you feel about this (Y/N?), etc.
Cheers,
Muli
