Announcing the 3.Olympics
Post Body

Hello, Everyone!

Since /u/cowguypig's idea thread, I noticed that people are really excited for a possible Olympics and I'm going to share some information about it.

I know that cowguypig was the initial leader for the Olympics, but he has since resigned and now I'm the new director of the Civcraft Olympic Committee.

First and foremost, we've created a list of sports that could be possible in the Olympics. This is certainly not a final list, but most of the sports in this list could very well be in it. I'd like to include as many sports as possible, rather than limiting it to a certain number. If one would like to participate in more than one event when the Olympics come around, that's certainly a possibility.

If anyone would like to suggest a sport, or complain that one of the sports listed is a stupid one, use this form here to do so.

To clear up some confusion, we MAY host the Olympics in Concordia. We haven't confirmed it yet. Sorry about the confusion on some of our earlier posts. That said...

There are countries that have asked me for them to host the Olympics. Currently I have the following:

Concordia-Iria (as a joint bid), MtA-Volterra-Gensokyo (joint bid), the USR, Astanna, Libra, Yohatl, The WSTO and Rinniport

If you want to become a host, I'd suggest following these guidelines. You should also tell me if you plan to become a host. Once you are approved, you should also make up a plan of what your nation is going to do to set up the Olympics. Plans are due to me in /r/civcraft_olympics by October 1st at Midnight GMT.

Notice that I have not set a date for the Olympics yet. We at the Olympic Committee are trying to aim for a late November or December Olympics, so the host country will have time to build all of their venues, and that people would be around to compete.

Once again, thank you for your support in the Civcraft Olympics. We hope you enjoy. Please subscribe to /r/Civcraft_Olympics where we'll post updates about the Olympics in the future, and also signup to our discord where most countries and soon-to-be the whole of civcraft are talking.

reposted because link shorteners :(

EDIT and EDIT #2: Updated host nominations. Reminder that we are looking for hosts for the next olympics too so we can do the passoff of the torch in this olympics.
