Changes:

  • Axes are no longer op

  • Repairing works again and was changed a bit

  • Turned off Humbug's pearl cooldown to use Finale's instead, which is a lot nicer

  • Mob spawners will now explode as soon as they spawn a mob

  • Mobs will no longer spawn in the ground

Axes:

Previously a stone axe was as strong as a sharpness 2 diamond sword due to our attack speed changes. This should now be fixed and all existing axes will update as soon as you click them. Changed damage values:

  • Diamond axe: 6 (previously 9)
  • Iron axe: 5 (previously 9)
  • Stone axe: 4 (previously 9)
  • Gold axe: 3 (previously 7)
  • Wood axe: 3 (previously 7)

To put this in perspective keep in mind that a diamond sword has a damage of 7

Repairing:

So yesterday snorri PM'd me about losing items when he repaired items in an anvil and had items on his cursor when he clicked the repaired item out of the anvil. I made a fix for that, which ended up breaking repairing completly (blame for that goes 50 % on me being tired and not testing it and 50 % on minecraft doing stupid stuff there) and reworked a lot of the anvil stuff after realizing that today. So you can now repair any tool, no matter whether it's enchanted or not, in an anvil with emeralds. The cost scales with how much durability the item is missing, it's material, it's enchants and the levels of those enchants. Simply put the item to repair in the first anvil slot, emeralds or emerald blocks in the second slot and take your repaired tool out. Be careful when using emerald blocks though, it will always round up. Vanilla repairing for non-enchanted tools is still enabled, but I'd not recommend it if you have xp.

Additionally some bugs were fixed, which prevented tools from only being repaired partially in anvils and some issues with naming tools while also combining them.

Pearl cooldown

All the bugs where pearls would go on cooldown if you opened a chest/door/etc. with a pearl in your hand should be fixed now. Additionally we are now using the fancy overlay on the hotbar to display the serverside cooldown.

Spawners:

So it seems like a few mob spawners somehow were put into the map. This wasn't intended and the groups that found one have been profiting of those. Some of the existing spawners were already broken manually by admins, any remaining ones will self destroy the next time they spawn a mob.

Duping:

So yesterday afternoon a duping glitch involving cross shard spawning was reported. About 1.5 hours later we had a temporary fix out. The glitch was introduced by a recent change and was possible for ~2 days. Based on logs we identified everyone who abused it on a larger scale and banned those. Duped diamonds/iron blocks/emeralds are already mostly cleaned up, except for a few cases which have to go through modmail first.
