what,,, is the grump ?

The Grumpers, according to the Civcraft wiki, were an "absurdist trolling gang," a phenomenon existing in 1.0 and early 2.0. Certain Civcraft historians have referred to the Grumpers as a pseudo-cult headed by the "Grump Father" Bill Williams, or stabatron.

The philosophy of Grump originated from early internet maymay culture, merged with Mr. Williams' own life experiences in college and in China. The result was a quintessentially silly, often illogical philosophy, eventually defined as:

"we rock, so have fun, be cool, never diminish someone else's fun, unless their fun is diminishing other peoples fun, (or you will be disowned), and circlejerk... brag about insignificant stuff that makes you hard down there, exaggerated fake and enjoyable stories, and spam hard."

The slogan chanted by this group could often been heard in the streets,

"Grump Hard, Grump Fast, Grump Habitual. Grump Harder, Grump Faster, Grump Habitualer."

The Grumpers has their own mythology and hierarchy, with the Grump Father, Warlords, Imperial Marshalls, and Grumpers as the "light side." The Turbocactus, or embodiment of all things nasty, was known to possess individuals and cause them to Grimp, or ruin other people's time. It was the Grumpers' goal to overcome and resist the power of the Turbocactus by acting zany, having fun, and bringing joy. One means of bringing joy to denizens was through the creation of Honecker Houses and Grumpfaces in the sky.

The Grumpers also developed their own culture, poetry, art, videos, and especially music. Much of the Grumpers' writings are intentionally created in broken English.

The Grumper's were primarily a nomadic group of cells throughout Civcraft 1.0, sometimes creating Grump Fortresses out of random materials. Mt. Augusta was considered a center of Grumper culture. Eventually a PvE Grumpserver was created and last a little over a year. In 2.0, the Grumpers were far and few between due to the overwhelming presence of the Turbocactus, but a city near 2.0's Mt. Augusta was managed to be founded.
