Civcraft needs to learn to be less racist
Post Body

Today, April 8th, is International Romani Day. A day to celebrate and appreciate the Romani people for all they have given us, from their delightful music to their famous sleight of hand tricks. But for Civcraft it remains most shameful.

Back when the moderation of Civcraft (thankfully) disabled the use of racist terms in players usernames they took a major step in stopping the racists from spewing their vitriolic hate speech. But they overlooked one extremely problematic word, the G-word. In fact it actively defended one of their fellow staff who used the vile and racist term in their username. A shocking reminder that some people actually defend this kind of discrimination. Even today there is no punishment for those with "G*psy" in their username, its an embarrassment for our entire community.

So let this be a wake up call, a reminder that while Civcraft has made great strides towards creating a better community free of hate there is still a long way to go. Racists still pollute the server and there is a lot of work to do! Only as a community can we fix this. We need to provide a safe environment that everyone, regardless of race, can enjoy!

Now have a happy International Romani day and enjoy some of their lovely music!
