The shear hypocrisy that represents the Ideals of the state of fingdom is completely mind boggling. It is a perversion of the ideals behind the Ancaps of 1.0. I will pick apart their laws and enter an in-depth analysis of Fingdom and its laws and the implications of their current course of action. Their will not be a tl/dr: of this.

First allow me to introduce myself. Some of you may know me, However, at the current time many of you will not know me as I have been gone for a long time. I am Strongman332 builder of roads and once a influential politician and thorn in several sides in 1.0. While I am not an ancap my self and often sided with the anarcho socialist on the server my actual ideals are independent of either point of view and I am not a Socialist. I am an two level utilitarian egalitarian. My philosophy revolves around the individual. I do not concern myself with what form governance or Economic system I find myself in. I am at home in both. Now with introductions to myself and my views out of the way I can get into the meat of this matter of Fingdom.

Fingdom Law is an evolution of and very similar to Law based on the Non Aggression Principle (NAP) held by most ancaps. So with that statement its time for a history lesson. The NAP was one of the founding principles in 1.0 law. It simply states that a person should not do harm to another person or their property. It is a good guiding principle. But and caps take it to its extreme. The existence of the state and its monopoly on power is against the natural law of the world and against the NAP. For an ancap all states are naturally illegitimate. Fingdom Law builds on ancap law but it changes it. I will now break down each of Fingdom's laws.

“Do not steal another person’s or entity's digital property” and “Do not destroy another person’s or entity's digital property.”

The fist two laws are a natural extension of the NAP. These are common in all societies. As Result they are not interesting to talk about and I will make no further mention of them. However, The third law is interesting and I am going to enjoy treating into it

“Do not attack or pearl others unless it is in self-defense or in defense of one's digital property. All Bounty Hunters MUST have legitimate evidence of a crime before accepting a bounty in Fingdom. Furthermore bounty hunters must have prior permission to hunt down criminals in foreign jurisdictions. If anyone is pearled by them without evidence they are subject to being arrested (pearled) by Peacekeepers and sent to a Judge.”

First this is a multi part law and should be more than one law. Allow me to break it down

“Do not attack or pearl others unless it is in self-defense or in defense of one's digital property.”

Well thats not interesting at all as it is part of the NAP so let's move on.

“All Bounty Hunters MUST have legitimate evidence of a crime before accepting a bounty in Fingdom.”

Here we go. Allow me to ask the reader a question. What is legitimate evidence? The law says nothing on what the state considers evidence and who makes the decision regarding evidence. The law is too vague, we will see more of this as we go.

“Furthermore bounty hunters must have prior permission to hunt down criminals in foreign jurisdictions.”

However it should be noted, Fingdom has claimed all unclaimed land, and all previously claimed land that was not defended on a subreddit post. I highly doubt they will respect any jurisdiction.

“ If anyone is pearled by them without evidence they are subject to being arrested (pearled) by Peacekeepers and sent to a Judge”

Break the law and we pearl you, That's fine. But Who are the peace-keepers? who are the judges? No other law mentions them.

“Respect and abide by the local laws of other Fingdom jurisdictions.”

This seams like a reasonable clause but once again it is vague. Also I would like to note, the laws says nothing on sentencing criminals. Permapearling is a definite possibility.

“In times of war or conflict all are asked to support each-other and take on either a military, industrial or logistical support role.”

All people living in their territory get conscripted during war. This Laws is in no way related to the NAP. In-fact most ancap would pearl those attempting to enforce such a law.

“When war is declared all those in the military (who are online) must be prepared to fight and defend each-other.”

Well this is not that interesting.

“Though a person without a working microphone may be recognized as a citizen or resident of a State they will not be recognized as a public servant until they have a working microphone and can be identified on their main account.”

All citizens are equal except those who are not. I refuse to use a mic or talk on mumble. I guess I am a second class citizen and do not have the same rights as those who have mic.

“Territories and Dominions (communities) will make no law that violates Fingdom Law.”

You get to have laws but only if they follow our Vague laws

“Treason is punishable by pearling.”

Ok typical law in a state, don't over throw the state.

Overall I would rate the law of Fingdom as poor. They are vague, Open to corruption, poorly written and organized. Compared to the ancaps they supposedly modeled themselves after I would say they fall far short. Personally I see Fingdom as means for a small group to legitimize their actions across the entire server and what a piss poor job they are doing of hiding it. I don't think there is much more to discuss regarding this “Law”. Why any one would willingly Join Findom I do not know. although with recent reddit posts, we may not be given an option with this regard as they claim the server map. Of course I would love to see them enforce their claims. Personally I do not recognize their claims on the unoccupied lands of this map, and I am sure I am not the only one.

As far as FSR being a member state they are not morons. They have good leaders and good fighters. If Fingdom ever does any thing to anger them or to lesson their hold on their territories they will leave. I have little doubt on that. I feel FSR is using Fingdom as a buffer against Fellowship and Had tensions with them not been high I doubt FSR would have joined.

In the future I feel fingdom will likely become the next nox/world police. These groups typically build from similar ideals and have major issues with corruption and power abuse. I do not see them lasting long making the claims that they have.
