By now all of you frequent browsers of the civcraft board have heard about the Mir resurrection, it's disputed land-claim, netherfactory and accidental discovery by chanada. I myself was down there last night after receiving a message from WojtekPaints saying something to the tune of 'holy shit come to xxx, xxx there is a huge new build on our claim'.
I headed down there along with a few others in varying Chanadian nations; without prot, a loadout, eV Pickaxe, lava buckets, smoothstone, obby et cetera. The aim was not to grief, pearl or engage in combat, we simply wanted find out who was building on our (this is what is contested) claim.
After about half an hour or so of walking around and exploring the giant build that seemingly sprung out of the ground overnight, a player named 'ozzy' began messaging us telling is to leave his private land. Along with a fair bit of 'PACK IT UP' and 'BUILD ON CHAN CLAIMS! HAVE YOU NO SHAME?' memeing we asked on whose authority the claim was, and who the leader was - to which we received no response. Ozzy asked us for proof that the claim was on our land, which we were able to provide. By means of a pre-/k/ompound map from March including Bielfeld within Chanada's claim. We asked him the same question and received no response. Eventually Sempha came online to talk about the disputed claim. At the time he had no actual proof of their claim but was willing to share his opinion on the validity of land claims in general.
After realizing we had reached an impasse we decided to leave the area and settle the issue in a diplomatic fashion. We had this short conversation before we parted ways. And Sempha knew quite well at this point that we were done and willing to sort things out in a diplomatic manner. I logged out only to find that Mir pearled several of the curious explorers who were at the time exiting or had already left the area. Despite only one of us having brought anything slightly resembling a combat loadout, Sempha took glee in mocking the non-existant pvp force and joked about how many Chanadians could be fit in mir's vault. Despite repeat promises to free them, they are still being held at 3085 1 14317.
It should be noted that in our time spent in the contested claim only two blocks were broken, by figasaur, who got himself stuck in hole.
Despite repeated promises and assurances that the affected Chanadians would be freed ASAP they remain pearled. Furthermore Mir refuses to release them until a resolution has been reached regarding the claim. They also wish to deny any lost goods or give reparations. It's not much of a stretch to presume that they wish to use the pearled Chanadians as a bargaining chip to reach a resolution that they desire, despite having done nothing wrong.
Despite checking out a mysterious build that appeared on what WE consider our own land, and being pearled for it - we remain open to negotiation. Our only request is that the Chanadians who were pearled while leaving the land be freed.
