AFKPGC fixes for automatic lag detection and corrective action would allow us to determine who is causing lag and act on it without significant effort, this is perhaps the simplest plugin overhaul we have proposed in a very long time, a 1st year programming student could more than do this.
ItemExchange needs some optimization to its on item move call, its currently called for every hopper item move and needs to handle that better.
Roruke could use some help finishing BetterShards the only thing standing in the way of actual sharding testing, once this is ready we are weeks out from sharding the end and the nether and reducing Civcrafts lag by a large margin (all farms in the end and the nether are now on their own servers causing lag there)
NameLayer, JukeAlert, Citadel, and more all need async'd DB queries, From a coding perspective this is of intermediate difficulty, its mostly just interacting with a threading library to spawn a thread to save things out.
Contraptions is The planned solution for botting, its purpose in life is to make 'gadgets' that you can string together to do things in ways that are not so laggy, contraption to harvest plants? Sure, contraption to replant? Sure, all of which will operate without you loading chunks or idling.
Heck if you can change some config values we can reduce lag, RealisticBiomes persistence changes should have a huge effect except that everyone kept idling to harvest every x minutes, we could push harvest to once every 8 hours and bump output accordingly so its not a nerf but it makes being online all the time to harvest irrelevant.
Mustercull's new mob combining needs some optimization according to our latest timings
All of these things are sitting around waiting on someone to help, but there is the simple fact, people don't care to help, the person who spends their time writing botting scripts benefits more in game than the person who helps out the server. So nothing gets done.
Say what you people will about pay to win, I have reached the conclusion that mostly people deserve it, they are almost universally unwilling to help out, with their own effort, or money, unless forced to do so in some manner.
So until people do help out, its going to stay laggy, get used to it.
