PSA: MC 1.8.7 Clients are immune to sign crashing, use them, a server side fix that should work for all other clients is going up with the changelog in about 10 minutes.

Official instructions for use of this advice are "calm your tits", also minimal googling revealed the 1.8.7 client thing, or even just experimentation (my first advice to people in modmail was to try using vanilla 1.8.7 to see if it fixed the issue), figuring it out should have been easier than panicking and making dramatic posts.
