Botting is something that is necessary on civcraft. Many of you seem to disagree, but you aren't looking at this the right way. Bots are not the disease, they are a symptom of that disease, and that disease is really shitty ass grindy gameplay.
I am not going to spend 3 hours a day punching carrots so that I can get xp. I am not going to spend 3 hours a day punching obby so that I can get 4 stacks of obsidian. I am not going to spend 3 hours a day punching pigs to get the pork I need for xp.
What I am going to do is crack open eclipse and write what essentially amounts to a farming AI. Its possible to do it, it probably would not even be that hard. Just make it work at varying speeds, have it move around, look through chests, and do other small things that could be used to say "no, thats not a bot, see it did X thing that a person would do".
If you think the gap between people that have bots and those that do not is bad now, just wait until people are forced to use actual high level programming languages. I can write this bot, give it to a friend or two, and start making shit while everyone else is manually punching stuff. Macromod is not hard, and it is far easier to learn than java.
So just remember, banning bots will not get rid of bots, it will just make more sophisticated bots. You are all trying to cure a disease by treating the symptoms, and it isn't going to work.
