Help: Trying to render a maximum distance screenshot

Newbie Question: So there are great pictures people take of their cities and other locations that can show a wide and deep field of view past the extent to what is rendered in the game. How is that done. Right now I am trying to take a picture of a building I have but I can't make the game render infinitely to see the whole structure.
Any help with that would be great. Thanks
