Mod installation?

I cant seem to find out how to install mods on this new MC Client Ive not played for over a year and alot has changed. Is there anyone that would be willing to send me their .jar or whatever for me to play that has RadarBro on it and Rei's minimap. Any other mods would be a bonus! Really need Rei's especially since I have no way to set waypoints and the worlds massive haha. Cheers :)
