Thoughts on books...
Post Body

So books are a rare commodity on the server because some people find them to be worthless or not worth reading and some people keep them closely guarded because if someone wanted to destroy a copy they'd simply have to toss each copy into some lava and all the hard work the author did would be gone forever. I'm worried that books aren't as "cheap" as they should be, despite printing presses, because even an entire chest full of different books that took hours to collect can be gone in seconds. In other words, there's a disproportionate amount of time spent on making books and collecting them than there is protection for said books.

Bastions and citadel offer protection against physical griefing, but we have yet to see any sort of server plug-in for what I'll call "intellectual griefing," i.e. book burning. The reason reinforced chests aren't a great solution is because even with the best protection a griefer can still get to them, and unlike diamonds or iron that they're likely to keep a griefer will usually just burn the books to annoy you, at little cost to themselves. Also by making an insane amount of protection for books like DRO vaults to hold them you're making them less accessible to people. I'm sure someone out there can come up with a better solution than simply logging out with my chest full of books in my inventory every time I leave the server, and I thought it was worth discussing.

Thanks for reading! :D
