Post Body

New Today On Civcraft

  • Staged Downgraded burricos, should work after restart now

  • Natural reinforcement on Endstone has been removed

New Today on Civtest

  • Testing updating of the production database to Citadel 3.0 with Roruke, so far its being a real pain, so much SQL chugging, 9 million entry test case sucks.

Bugs And Development Focus

  • TangentialThreat did a nice write up on how NetherFactories are going to work and why you would want them, I do suggest reading it

  • As outlined here thanks to Flaminius's testing we can see that the issue with printing presses starts at the 5 page or so mark. Everything else seems to work ok, but the costs on all of this do need to plummet.

  • Bastions need fixing.

  • Awhile back, we sitched from quonic's generously hosted wiki to our own wiki at civcraft.org. I think most of the content has transitioned, but are there old pages still missing? If there are some old articles that haven't been moved over then feel free to download the images or pages and edit them in. We highly encourage using the wiki to document the history and legacy of your cities.

  • PrintingPresses are broken, we should fix them and then drop the cost like a rock until printing books is actually done. Thoughts on adjusted costs (Assuming they are ever actually fixed or broken in the first place)?

  • I need to set this up when time allows, Jawa told me how.

  • Civdisease development has caught the flu. We have a repository just waiting for commits.. How hard could it be to code in overdose effects for pufferfish abuse?

ttk2's thinking corner

  • Once we can get Citadel 3.0 to work testing it with the Production DB we should eliminate the vast majority of the failure cases, the rest of the possible issues rely with the plugins actual operation with you can help test on the 3.0 testing server, which is on mc.civcraft.vg:25567 (one port higher than Civtest, which is itself one port higher than the default Minecraft port which the actual server runs on)

  • Crimeo probably has the right idea, if we can reduce server load even a little it might help, but for things like melon farms, even if we properly persisted them how would that work for melon farms? would you just login after a long enough time and see a bunch of them drop out? Measures we take against idling might cause a spike in prices of various goods, finally this is the most interesting part of the botting argument, when you build an in game system and idle it its essentially identical to botting so where do we stand on how we want to act to idling? (many people oppose botting, but I don't see that extend to idling for purposes of running machines very often IHMO they are much the same thing with the exception of the alts argument, which I see as a separate, although related, discussion)

  • /r/Civcraft what Mechanical keyboard should I get? I must have dedicated arrow keys and a number pad.
