This is not a shitpost, or some post making theoretical objections to the recent influx of absurd land claims. Within the next couple of hours, I will actually be improving upon, building on, and taking your illegitimate land claims.
I will be compiling a list of land claims posted on the subreddit and visiting them. If you have actually fenced off, placed signs on, or otherwise actually improved upon the land, then I will recognize your land claim as legitimate and will leave your claim untouched.
If you have not done this, I will be claiming the location instead. I will be placing bastions, jukeboxes, shop chests, signs, fences, and structures to mark my claim. If you still wish to assert rights to my land after I have clearly claimed and demonstrated the property as mine, then I will sell you the land. If you trespass onto my property or break blocks on my property, then appropriate bounties will be placed and enforced.
One should not have the ability to assert rights to land they have not even seen or been to. I understand that real life conflicts make it difficult for people to get their choice land claims if they don't have the time, but that doesn't entitle them to reserve things in advance. It's first come first serve - if all you've done is talk about how much you'd like to own something then don't get upset when someone else buys it instead.
Posting on the subreddit before you've actually made your claim defensible is just telling people that there is an empty, unoccupied piece of land that is very important to you but hasn't been taken. Please do note that while I will be enforcing my claims I am more than willing to be reasonable and discuss terms with you. I am mostly doing this because I've gotten pretty annoyed at the sub-spam caused by this mindless avalanche of indefensible assertions and want to emphasize that people shouldn't just jump on the bandwagon before thinking. I am posting this ahead of time so that anyone who hasn't actually done anything to their land claim has a chance to legitimize it before I take it.
Examples of land claims I believe to be legitimate, based on subreddit posts/visible improvements on the land: (will post pictures as time allows)
0,0 Friendly Ancap Guys - 150x150 border that's been clearly demarcated by a smooth stone brick line, multiple improvements and structures made within the claim, signs indicating ownership
"The Grove" - clear signs, structures, signs of improvement, road
Brimstone's Black Hills Nether Research Facility - signs, structures, factories
Libertas - clear signs, structures, fences, jukes, bunkers
Stratmatt's land claim/nether colony farms, plans for a colony, building
Examples of land claims I believe to be illegitimate, based on information I have available to me (keep in mind I have not visited these yet, it merely appears from the subreddit posts that absolutely nothing has been done as of yet):
Rekvia's land claim that has not been visited or seen in person
Superbuilder's land claim if no improvements have been made by the time I get there
NDZ's land claim if no improvements have been made by the time I get there
If the end result of this post is that there's a mad rush towards building fences and houses as people realize that their subreddit posts were just empty words, then great. If I end up having to build a bunch of nether outposts where people can stop by to get food/supplies/do some shopping, then I guess that works out too.
