Bugs And Development Focus
TangentialThreat did a nice write up on how NetherFactories are going to work and why you would want them, I do suggest reading it
As outlined here thanks to Flaminius's testing we can see that the issue with printing presses starts at the 5 page or so mark. Everything else seems to work ok, but the costs on all of this do need to plummet.
Bastions need fixing.
Awhile back, we sitched from quonic's generously hosted wiki to our own wiki at civcraft.org. I think most of the content has transitioned, but are there old pages still missing? If there are some old articles that haven't been moved over then feel free to download the images or pages and edit them in. We highly encourage using the wiki to document the history and legacy of your cities.
PrintingPresses are broken, we should fix them and then drop the cost like a rock until printing books is actually done. Thoughts on adjusted costs (Assuming they are ever actually fixed or broken in the first place)?
Civdisease development has caught the flu. We have a repository just waiting for commits.. How hard could it be to code in overdose effects for pufferfish abuse?
ttk2's thinking corner
I am still waiting on the Burricos pull to be moved to the Civcraft repo.
NetherFactory bugs that need to be fixed include, the pearl traveling messages (which also seem to come up on exiting a Minecart in the Nether, probably counts as a teleport event) and we need to be sure NetherFactory creation is disabled in the end unless we want a jailbreak
Now that NetherFactories are online its time to start prepping for the Citadel 3.0 launch, the updated versions of various plugins need to be tested and can be found running one port above Civtest, other than database conversion most things should work pretty well.
As a reminder to players anything that looks like x-ray from the server side is bannable, so acting on info from Cavemode will be treated identically to x-raying when it comes to bans, because to us it all looks the same anyways.
It would be interesting if the Civcraft map would add a layer showing a 5k circle around each netherfactory when you toggle it, just for an interesting visualization, I am excited to see how the in game deals between cities work out to handle travel to and from cities with factories, also the mechanics of who does and does not get access to the Nether
Spend 3 hours trying to debug Bumblebee and get my dedicated card running again, final result is that Systemd isn't interacting properly with Bumblebee and even worse than that somthing is up with the graphics driver itself making it essentialy useless even when I can get it to run at all in a really hacky way. But hey I understand the basics of systemd now.
