New Today On Civcraft

  • Staged new Facotrymod config that should allow creation of the aspect factories but not the NetherFactory itself, this should go online Christmas day

New Today on Civtest

  • The new Facotrymod config going on Civcraft tomorrow is on Civtest right now, please hop over there and give it a quick try and make sure you can make the aspect factory.

Bugs And Development Focus

  • As outlined here thanks to Flaminius's testing we can see that the issue with printing presses starts at the 5 page or so mark. Everything else seems to work ok, but the costs on all of this do need to plummet.

  • Bastions need fixing.

  • Awhile back, we sitched from quonic's generously hosted wiki to our own wiki at civcraft.org. I think most of the content has transitioned, but are there old pages still missing? If there are some old articles that haven't been moved over then feel free to download the images or pages and edit them in. We highly encourage using the wiki to document the history and legacy of your cities.

  • PrintingPresses are broken, we should fix them and then drop the cost like a rock until printing books is actually done. Thoughts on adjusted costs (Assuming they are ever actually fixed or broken in the first place)?

  • I need to set this up when time allows, Jawa told me how.

  • Civdisease development has caught the flu. We have a repository just waiting for commits.. How hard could it be to code in overdose effects for pufferfish abuse?

ttk2's thinking corner

  • TangentialThreat did a nice write up on how NetherFactories are going to work and why you would want them, I do suggest reading it, it also brings up a few known issues, especially ones I thought I had resolved. Regardless NetherFactories as far as I currently know do not remember their on/off state during restart, which is a problem with having them run all the time like most people will want them too, a simple fix for this would be to have a redstone signal turn them on, then people can just have an always on clock or even do fancier things, or we could just persist the setting, but that's less fun. Next up on the problem feature list, I know that in the past I had it coded and tested that the Facotries would print the new costs and the proximity of the nearby factory when proximity became a factor, but that does not seem to be the case in testing right now, that might need to be fixed, or maybe that pull was lost at some point.

  • Did a Christmas build for my mom yesterday, I usually hate small form factor cases, but this one was very well thought out and as easy to work with as I could ask for, I expected to find some hard disk cages, but they seem to just expect you to mount them up on the side panels where they have a bunch of screw ports for them, it works out pretty well, but it is interesting. That power supply was probably overspec'd but I had trouble finding anything lower that was modular, and I didn't want to have to shove a bunch of extra cables into the case.

  • I need a modified version of my current skin that's a Santa Skin, all the other admins need similar modifications with elf skins, probably not going to happen, but it would be fun to deliver presents in costume tonight.

  • Because the day after Christmas might be a little busy for everyone I am taking proposals for when we should do the NetherFacotry launch, please chime in.

  • I hope everyone has a very Merry Chirstmas and enjoys their Holiday! There will be no changelog tomorrow as there will be no changes.
