What should we do with Cynide?
Post Body

So, I am going to start this post by saying I do not support the pearling of innocents. I never have, and I have been at many vaultbreaks to free innocent players. That being said, I have held "innocent" players. To date, I have had AshiPoop and Oculism (both freed yesterday) in my vault.

Now, I will say that I am not overly upset over AshiPoops release, I was more leaning toward keeping him, however I would not have fought a good argument for his release. At the time, we were told he was from HCF, so we pearled him. And, once pearled, he threatened to sick Jarl on us, so we vaulted him. Other than that, he has not really done anything, he has no connection to any other HCF players, and he helped expose Celoxia's griefer alt. So I am not really upset about having him freed.

Oculism is a different story all-togeather.

So, the problem we face is a faction from HCF named Cynide. A large number of their players have logged onto civcraft recently. They all logged in around the same time, they are brand new to our server, and the first thing some of them did on it was grief. Even from my observation of the ones who had not griefed yet, they seemed incredibly suspicious. Several of them first came to Carbon and started to "build a house"(nothing was reinforced), when given diamonds, the first thing they made was a sword, and the kicker, they started shouting things like "hail recharge" and "how are akn's horses". Not exactly normal things for newfriends to do.

Now, off the top of my head the players who have logged in so far are:

  • watsmyname12

  • jtpetino

  • Oculism

  • xXxPSN_GamerxXx

  • knitedude

  • sullivan_

  • nikeboom

  • CaptainMike15

  • AkwardPenguin

  • Odiingrad

  • hockeyguy530

  • bensa87

  • TheBominos

Keep in mind, these are only the accounts I can remember off the top of my head from seeing them ingame. More may have logged in already, however I have not noticed.

Now, of these 13 that have logged in, almost all of them are griefing or have been pearled for griefing. Again, off the top of my head, these players include:

  • watsmyname12 (Currently Griefing Roma)

  • Oculism (Recently freed from my vault, Currently Griefing Roma)

  • knitedude (pearled)

  • Sullivan_ (Pearled on BennyBoob and I believe Sullivan)

  • nikeboom (We believe on account pearled, Currently Griefing Roma)

  • CaptainMike15 (Currently Griefing Roma)

  • Odiingrad (Pearled)

  • hockeyguy530 (Pearled for attacking ColinCoolGuy, alt Shafted_ pearled by me)

  • Bensa (Currently Griefing Roma)

So far, all of these players have been griefing or are pearled for it. The ones who were not listed have actually been with ones who have. Infact, I pearled jtpetino in Carbon with an alt I believe was knitedude after it had attacked people in Vale.

All my actions thus far have been based on the above evidence. I do not believe in pearling innocents, but I also do not believe these people to be innocent. They have made their intentions on civcraft quite clear, and it is my opinion that they be pearled. However, it seems the majority opinion is, wait for them to kill you, then pearl them. Is there no way in which was can avoid that, or at least find some middle ground?

Edit: I would really appreciate it if we could avoid the brigading. I know you all hate me, but you could at least say so in the comments instead of downvoting it.
