[GG/CivPVP] HitAdjust Testing Event

Post Body

Over at CivPVP we're testing a potential new combat plugin.

Squeenix announced that he'd been working on something called HitAdjust, which aims to balance group pvp further towards the larger group.

It works by changing the way players get invulnerability after taking damage.

In vanilla minecraft, you're invulnerable after a damage instance for around half a second.

This changes that, you will no longer become immune to damage after being hit by a player. It only affects left click attack damage, so damage from mobs, splash harms etc. will behave as it always has.

To make up for the lack of invulnerability after damage, a single player can only damage another player once every configurable amount of milliseconds.

We will be testing with that set to 500ms, which should emulate default pvp in a 1v1. We might look at tweaking that and trying out a few other settings.

This should make it more advantageous to attack a single player with a larger group, since maximum damage that can be done to them increases more steadily with each player now they aren't spending as much time immune from all damage.

Please test it out, see what you think to both 1v1s and group fights.

Please post your thoughts and let us know if you find any issues.

TL;DR:

Testing new plugin on CivPVP. Limits dealt by players to a single target instead of damage received by player, should give larger groups more of an advantage against solo players or smaller groups.
