Sorry that this isn't exactly Civcraft related, but there isn't much going on on the sub so I thought I would bring up what could become one of the most important Geopolitical events this decade.
So I have been trying to follow along pretty closely with what has been going on in Ukraine, and I hope I am at least semi-informed. But I have been thinking, could potential conflict be avoided by stationing US and other NATO troops inside Ukraine? To me, it seems that Russia is not afraid of the Ukraine army, as well as anyone outside the Ukraine coming to help them. Because of that, they have been moving through Crimiea without hesitation. It's also pretty obvious that the Russians don't want an escilated war apart from any conflict that might arise with Ukraine troops, but even that they seem to have been avoiding. So would posting US and NATO troops not be a good deterrent if the Russians decide they want the rest of the Ukraine as well? They cannot exactly occupy a nation while unfriendly troops they would be reluctant to fight stand right next to them.
Anyway, let me know what you guys think. I think it would be especially great to hear from any Ukrainians or Russians.
Quick Edit: Apparently the Prime Minister of Germany thinks Putin is out of touch with reality. That's something
