Hello comrades, both dead and undead, it's one of those moments again where I give you important life advice on living in the spawn of hell known as Civcraft. Today's topic, Democracy! As Churchill once said, "Democracy is the worst form of government" and he's right, it is but for some reason, people feel attached to this unnatural social structure. But enough of my personal opinion on the hegemonic discourse, today I'll talk about you, the subalterns and your subaltern discourses.
First off, democracy is about minority or majority rule but for the sake of argument, your group currently resides in the minority. Now, how do you get to power you might wonder? Well, you start this thing called a Political Party, full of like minded thinkers. Now you have your group of comrades, ready to win the hearts and minds of the common workers through the typical process of campaigning and organizing. However you might not always win thus, you need a secondary option.
The secondary option, what could it be? Well, on a rainy day, you need an umbrella but instead of rain and umbrellas, you managed to horde a large amount of armor and weapons. Now, you're not rebelling per say, only establishing an armed wing to your political party. Unlike the civilian side, winning the hearts and minds through speeches and promises, your armed wing will win the hearts and minds through action and delivery of promises. Additionally, after losing an election, it's essential to contest the vote by erecting barricades or providing arms to supporters. Riots are in many way part of the democratic experience so when you do engage in looting, it's simply a matter of political discourse, not mindless griefing. So while the stores are being looted and opposition members disarmed, it's essential for your political wing to declare the votes rigged thereby, justifying your legitimacy as the elected official of the city.
So in conclusion, having an armed wing within your political party will increase your chances of being elected since rioting and looting are all part of the democratic discourse.
